Classroom Rules and Procedures:

Bienvenue! I’m happy you are here! I encourage you to try your hardest, complete your homework and projects, and ask for help when needed. It is important that you understand my expectations of you as well as your own rights and expectations of me.

It is my responsibility to provide you with an atmosphere in which you are best able to learn. You will succeed in this class if you are prompt, prepared, polite, on task and if you participate.

I look forward to helping you this year. Should you have any questions, concerns I prefer to be contacted via email. I usually respond within one day. You are responsible for your actions as well as your education. You will be held accountable! I am confident you all will succeed if you set your mind to it.
The class rules are:
  1. Be Prompt
  2. Be Prepared
  3. Be Polite- raise your hand before speaking.See classroom Settings Chart.
  4. Be On Task
  5. No Electronics
  6. No Eating/Drinking/Gum
If You Choose To Break A Rule:
1st Incident: Name documented and warning issued
2nd Incident: Check next to name and negative phone call home
3rd Incident: Second check next to name, phone call home, and assignment to detention, during which an “Action Plan” will be designed to correct the behavior between parent and student and teacher.
4th Incident: Third check next to name and administrative referral.

Serious Offense: Student is sent immediately to the office and receives a written referral.
Warnings and checks are valid for the entire week. They will be erased on Fridays, thus each Monday represents a new opportunity to demonstrate compliance with the classroom rules.

There is no exceptions for electronics. They will be confiscated the first time they are taken out of the book bag. They will be given to the administration for the remainder of the day.

NOTE: Student has 3 days to serve detention—detentions with Mme. Bellucci are before school or during lunch. Student may earn more than one detention per week due to offenses.

  • Take a Text book
  • Take your assigned seat
  • Have your previous night’s homework on your desk to be checked by the teacher.
  • Begin the Bellwork assignment from the board
  • Work quietly and by yourself
  • Wait for further instructions from the teacher

Tardies
You are late to class meaning: you are not in your desk, on task at time class begins based on the time on my computer. There are no exceptions. You have 2 freebie unexcused tardies per qtr. The 3rd tardy requires lunchtime detention and a call home, the forth tardy will receive a written referral and also a call home. If you are late you must follow the following procedure when entering the classroom:

  • Walk in quietly making as little noise as possible.
  • Place your pass (with your name printed on it) in the grey folder found on my cart in first pendaflex. If you were held behind by another teacher get a written signed pass from them.
  • Sign in on tardy sheet with your name, time, date and your period, and reason for being late. The tardy sheet is located on my cart in the Grey folder.
  • Quietly take a book and take your assigned seat.
  • Join the activity in progress. If you don’t know what the class is doing raise your hand until the teacher sees you.
  • Continue working (waiting) quietly until I get to your desk.
  • More than 2 unexcused tardies will affect your participation grade and your effort grade.

If You Are Absent
  • It is your responsibility to make-up any assignments or tests in a timely manner when you return from an excused absence.
  • Join the activity in progress.
  • If you don’t know what to do, raise your hand and wait until I reach you.
  • During the last 5 minutes of class once the lesson is over copy the missing activities and Bellwork in your agenda.
  • You may get this information from a responsible classmate at the end of class once the lesson is over.
  • If you need to make-up a test you must make arrangements to schedule a date with the teacher during the last 5 minutes of class.
  • Tests can only be made up before school or during lunch and only if previous arrangements have been made with me.
  • Unexcused absence will result in a zero on all makeup work/tests.

Turning in Assignments
The teacher will sometimes collect homework, group-work or individual work. You will turn these in only when the teacher asks for them. During group work everyone must have a paper to hand in!
  • Make sure the assignment has your full name, period number and date, assignment page and number. This should be on the top margin of your paper.
  • Hand the papers to the person to your left.
  • Papers handed in with no name or assignment page and # will be thrown away.
  • Late work is accepted for a lesser grade.

Getting The Class Attention
There may be times when I may need to get everyone’s undivided attention so that I may give directions, explanations, answer group questions, etc. or if the noise level gets too loud. When I need everyone to stop talking and pay attention to me:
I will say “Class, your attention please” and raise my hand.
When you see me raise my hand you must:
  • Raise your hand and keep it up until I put down mine.
  • Stop talking and look at me.
  • Wait for me to speak.
This procedure should take us no more than 10 seconds. Whenever the class exceeds this time, the whole class will owe me that same amount of time after the the class has ended.

Procedure for the End of Class and Class Dismissal
  • Students will hand the textbooks gently to the their left/front of the room
  • The person in the last seat will count the books from their row and put them on cart/shelf
  • Take a total count the number of books in the shelf.
  • Check to see if the rows are in order.
  • Clean papers or trash found on the floor.
  • Stay seated in assigned seat until the teacher says the class is dismissed.

When someone walks into the room ( visitor)
A. When we have someone come into our classroom who is not part of our class (teacher, administrator,
student, parent) you are expected to follow the same classroom rules and procedures. You are expected to be
polite to the visitor. Do not talk to the visitor unless he/she is talking to you directly. Continue working onyour assignment as usual.
If the visitor needs to speak to me privately, I expect you to remain in your seat without talking until I finish speaking with the visitor.
